SuperCal® Premium Pink Mist Petchoa (Petunia x Calibrachoa hybrid 'SAKPXC039') showcases soft pink petals enhanced by subtle yellow at the center, delivering an appealing pastel color palette from spring through autumn. These funnel-shaped blooms combine the large flower size of petunias and the resilient nature of calibrachoas, offering an extended display. They stand up well to summer heat and handle occasional rain without losing their fresh appearance. In our experience, the self-cleaning habit ensures minimal upkeep while maintaining the plant’s airy, mounded shape.
This hybrid’s moderate growth and trailing form make it a superb choice for window boxes, hanging baskets, or planted as a border accent. Butterflies and hummingbirds frequently drop by for a sip, adding movement to mixed garden beds. Thanks to its petunia genetics, SuperCal® Premium Pink Mist Petchoa grows stronger roots, while the calibrachoa side gives a durable bloom color that remains stable. Petchoa originates from specialized breeding, blending the strengths of both parent plants into a convenient and eye-catching annual.
SuperCal® Premium Pink Mist Petchoa Care
Place in full sun to partial sun once nighttime temperatures regularly exceed 50°F (0°C). Select a well-draining soil with a mildly acidic to neutral pH, and keep it watered enough to maintain slight moisture without pooling at the roots. A balanced, water-soluble fertilizer applied monthly supports continued growth and color. Gentle deadheading can help the plant maintain a tidy look, although it largely self-sheds faded flowers.
Pinch any overgrown stems halfway through the growing season if you want more branching and renewed buds. Container plantings need routine checks for dryness, especially in direct sun. Overwintering indoors is sometimes an option in regions with mild winters, though most gardeners treat it as an annual. If soil conditions remain damp during cooler months, reduce watering to avoid root problems.
SuperCal® Premium Pink Mist Petchoa Spacing
Allow about 14 to 22 inches between plants in rows or clusters so each one can spread. Use a container at least 12 inches wide if growing a new petchoa in a pot, giving roots ample space to develop comfortably.
