Growing Zones
Add bold, colorful foliage and distinctively hued flowers to your garden with this unique Heuchera. The palmately lobed leaves are a chartreuse yellow with a silver overlay; they mature to lime green. The dark stems are dotted with phenomenal, rose pink flowers that bloom all summer long. Timeless Glow Coral Bells provides a pop of color for the shade garden and a bright spot for sunny places, too. This plant grows 8-10 inches high with scapes reaching 14-16 inches.
Easy to grow, tolerant of salt, and with few diseases or insect problems, this Heuchera has a clumping habit with leaves that deer ignore. The flowers attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. This North American native is a versatile plant that you can use as edging in a border, in mass plantings, or to dress up containers – it makes a stunning filler in a combination pot. It is a must-have for the woodland garden.
Timeless Glow Coral Bells Care
Plant this Coral Bells in a well-drained area. Improve the soil at planting time with 2-4 inches of organic matter such as compost. Place the crown of the plant a little higher than the surrounding soil level. Mulch but don’t cover the crown. It likes average or fertile soil that is acidic or neutral. It needs an average amount of water. This plant thrives in part shade but will also grow well in a sunnier location.
Remove spent flower stems at the end of summer. Trim back damaged, dead, or unsightly leaves in spring, being careful not to damage the crown. Heuchera fare better in winter when they are grown in well-drained soil. Water them three or four days before the first expected freeze. You may add a little fine mulch if you wish. This plant works well in a container. Add a little organic matter to average potting soil and your Coral Bells will thrive. A layer of mulch will help retain moisture. Do not cover the crown with soil or mulch.
Timeless Glow Coral Bells Spacing
In a shady garden, they combine well with hostas, bleeding hearts, hydrangeas, ferns, and astilbe. Space your plants 16-18 inches apart. If planting them in a container, Coral Bells have shallow roots so you do not need a deep pot.
