True Bliss Rose (Rosa True Bloom™ ‘True Bliss’) enchants gardeners with stunning, pink-and-white double flowers that emit a spicy, captivating fragrance. Each bloom showcases over 30 petals, elegantly arranged on a glossy green backdrop of remarkably disease-resistant foliage. The 4-inch blossoms create a refined, hybrid tea–like effect while retaining the easy-care qualities of a modern shrub rose. Reaching about 3 to 4 feet tall and wide, this rose offers consistent flower power from spring to frost, making it a perfect choice for those seeking the beauty of traditional roses with less hassle. Arriving fully rooted on its own rootstock, True Bliss provides both romance and reliability in any sun-kissed garden.

True Bliss Rose boasts excellent drought tolerance once established, resisting common rose issues such as mildew and black spot. Native to contemporary breeding programs, it reflects advanced genetics that unite heirloom charm with modern vigor. This rose shines as a standout in borders, as a fragrant addition near a patio seating area, or even in large containers to highlight its full color range. Plant it where you can relish its perfume and admire the graceful swirl of pink around paler petals—its allure is sure to invite hummingbirds, butterflies, and appreciative onlookers alike.

True Bliss Rose Care

Select a sunny spot that receives at least six hours of direct light, ensuring well-drained, loamy soil enriched with organic compost. Dig a hole about 2 feet wide and deep, spacing multiple plants 2 to 3 feet apart to allow for airflow and robust growth. Water thoroughly after planting and continue watering two to three times per week once new growth appears. In spring, summer, and early fall (in mild climates), feed with a water-soluble, balanced fertilizer (20-20-20) to encourage healthy foliage and profuse flowering. Applying mulch around the base retains moisture, moderates soil temperature, and helps keep weeds at bay.

When it comes to pruning, trim the shrub in early spring to rejuvenate and shape the plant, typically reducing it to about half or one-third of its previous height. Remove any dead or crossing branches during the growing season to maintain overall health and appearance. For container plantings, keep a closer eye on water needs, and refresh the potting mix annually if plant performance declines. Deadheading spent blooms is optional since this rose is self-cleaning, but removing faded flowers can further encourage abundant rebloom.

True Bliss Rose Spacing

For a hedge or row, position individual shrubs about 2-3 feet apart to form a lush, continuous display while ensuring adequate breathing room. If you prefer a mass planting with more separation, allow at least 3 feet between each rose to accommodate their mature spread. When growing True Bliss in a container, select a pot around 14 to 16 inches in diameter to give the root system plenty of space. This allows for steady top growth, healthy flowering, and convenient maintenance throughout the season.
