UpTick™ Gold Tickseed (Coreopsis hybrida ‘Baluptold’) delivers sunny, golden-yellow flowers that last from early spring through fall, making it a standout choice for long-lasting color in any garden. Each bloom sits on a neat, mounded clump of green foliage that reaches about 12–14 inches tall and wide. This bright display draws bees and butterflies while also resisting deer, so it’s both wildlife-friendly and low-fuss. Its bigger flowers and extended bloom window give you more color for less work, surpassing many traditional varieties of tickseed.
Tidy in habit and highly adaptable, UpTick™ Gold fits well in borders, containers, or as mass plantings along sunny slopes. It is derived from a North American native and handles heat, average soils, and summertime stresses with ease. Minimal care and natural mildew resistance make it a reliable option for those seeking continuous color with little maintenance. Plant it in any well-drained spot that receives full sun, and watch it flourish through the growing season.
UpTick™ Gold Tickseed Care
Place in a sunny location with well-drained soil, watering consistently to keep the root zone evenly moist but never soggy. An all-purpose fertilizer once a month encourages sustained growth and flower production. Though tolerant of various pH levels, a slightly acidic to neutral range tends to boost performance. Regular deadheading can spur additional buds and maintain a fresh look into late summer and beyond.
Clip spent blooms or trim lightly after each flush of flowers to promote continuous color. A harder cutback at season’s end may help tidy the plant before winter arrives. When grown in containers, keep an eye on moisture, as potted plants can dry out more quickly. With minimal effort, UpTick™ Gold Tickseed’s golden display will keep shining from spring into fall.
UpTick™ Gold Tickseed Spacing
For mass plantings, space each plant 12 to 14 inches apart to allow airflow and create a continuous block of color. If using as a single specimen or in mixed borders, provide >15 inches of open space in all directions, so the form of the plant stands out. Container plantings do well in pots around 8 to 12 inches in diameter, giving roots room to expand and ensuring healthy, continuous growth.
