Bred by Goodness Grows Edibles, this high sugar, dependable plum tomato plant produces sweet fruit that are so flavorful they can be eaten straight off the vine; they are also delicious chopped in salads, sliced and added to sandwiches, or paired with mozzarella, olive oil, and basil. Growing upright and bushy, this vigorous grower, also known as Solanum lycopersicum 'Viva Italia', syn. Lycopersicon lycopersicum, and Viva Italia F1, produces small yellow flowers prior to fruiting. Tomatoes ripen in 75 to 80 days and should be picked when the tomatoes are at least two-thirds red; they can also be canned/frozen. A determinate plant, Viva Italia Tomato Plant requires minimal pruning. Simply trim the plant’s lowest set of leaves to prevent disease.
