Arctic Blaze® Fuchsia Sage (Salvia hybrida ‘Novasalfuc’) awakens the garden with bright magenta flowers perched on compact, upright stems. These tubular blooms emerge in early spring and continue their show well into autumn, capturing the attention of hummingbirds along the way. The glossy green foliage releases a faint fragrance when brushed against, adding another layer of sensory appeal. Its ability to bloom over such a long stretch sets it apart from many other perennials.

Arctic Blaze® Fuchsia Sage is resistant to heat, deer browsing and rabbits. It adapts easily to most garden layouts, whether lighting up a mixed border or filling a focal container. The repeat blooms make a strong case for planting large swaths or weaving them among companion perennials for continuous summer color. Its neat, medium-height habit also blends well into cottage gardens and pollinator-friendly beds.

Arctic Blaze® Fuchsia Sage Care

Plant Arctic Blaze® Fuchsia Sage in well-draining soil amended with organic matter, favoring a slightly acidic to neutral pH. Full sun exposure of at least six hours per day promotes the best flowering, though partial shade is tolerated in hotter zones. Water regularly during the first growing season, then only as needed once the plant establishes deeper roots. A balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring helps sustain repeated blooming.

Trim away spent flower spikes throughout the season to encourage further bud development and keep the shape tidy. If grown in containers, use a high-quality potting mix with good drainage and increase watering frequency during warm months. In colder climates, consider bringing potted plants into a protected area or applying mulch around in-ground plants to protect the roots from freezing temperatures. Cut back stems in late fall or early spring to renew growth and maintain a healthy clump.

Arctic Blaze® Fuchsia Sage Spacing

Set plants 18 to 24 inches apart when creating a bold ribbon of color or filling a mass planting. Choose a container around 12 to 14 inches wide to allow the root system to spread comfortably.
