Arctic Fox™ Lemon Cream Foxglove (Digitalis hybrida 'Balroxleam') adds soft yellow towers of color from early summer to late season. Its deep green, textured leaves support upright flower spikes that reach around 16 to 20 inches in height. This selection stands out by offering a longer bloom window compared to traditional foxgloves. It delivers graceful vertical interest in mixed plantings or smaller gardens.
Though descended from European woodland species, this modern hybrid adapts easily to varied conditions. The lemon-cream flowers have a subtle charm, and sturdy stems help prevent flopping. It behaves as a short-lived perennial in many zones, and deer often leave it alone. Plant it in borders, use it as a mass planting for a bolder effect, or try it in containers for easy color.
Arctic Fox™ Lemon Cream Foxglove Care
Grow it in rich, well-draining soil and position it where it receives partial sun to partial shade. Keep the soil evenly moist, but avoid letting water linger around the roots. Feed with a balanced fertilizer every few weeks in spring and early summer. A slightly acidic to neutral pH supports healthy root growth.
Deadhead spent spikes to encourage a new show of flowers. Remove damaged foliage to maintain a neat appearance, and thin out any crowded crowns. Shearing lightly after the main summer display helps refresh the plant before cooler weather arrives. In cold climates, add mulch around the base, or bring container-grown specimens into a sheltered area.
Arctic Fox™ Lemon Cream Foxglove Spacing
Place plants about 12 to 16 inches apart in rows or groupings to balance coverage with air circulation. A single plant in a border needs enough space for its foliage to spread fully. Use a container at least 10 inches wide for a fresh planting, and upgrade to a larger pot if you combine it with other companion plants.
