Lantana patio trees are perfect for giving your patio or deck a color-drenched vertical element. Athens Rose Lantana Patio Tree is a grafted plant that never gets taller than 3-4 feet but packs quite a punch with its vivid hot pink and orange flowers. The fragrant flowers and foliage are a treat for the eye and the nose, giving your outdoor space a truly tropical feel. Rely on Lantana to attract beneficial pollinators and hummingbirds to your garden throughout the summer months and well into the fall.

Lantana is an easy-to-care-for, tender perennial that is most often grown as a warm-season annual. Athens Rose is not often bothered by the usual garden pests and diseases and is highly deer resistant due to its rough leaf texture and fragrance. Hummingbirds and butterflies are drawn to the sweet nectar and will frequent your plants for many weeks. Lantana patio trees make ideal thriller components for a mixed seasonal planting in a pot or a garden bed. Virtually any shallow-rooted perennial or annual is a good choice to plant alongside Athens Rose Lantana Patio Tree.

Athens Rose Lantana Patio Tree Care

Lantana grows well as a tender tropical houseplant that spends its summers outdoors. Choose a container that has plenty of drainage and a heavy base to offset the heavy top growth. Use a potting mix with extra perlite or vermiculite to retain moisture and keep the roots healthy. Place the planter in a location that receives at least 6 hours of direct sun and is protected from heavy winds or summer downpours. In a garden bed, Lantana needs well-draining soil and benefits from a layer of mulch to help the soil retain moisture between waterings. While Lantana is fairly drought resistant, it needs to be watered when the top 2-3 inches of soil are dry.

Indoors, Lantana requires bright direct or indirect light, and grows best in a south-facing location. Dedicated grow lights can be used if the natural light is insufficient. Mist every few days with filtered or distilled water to boost humidity levels indoors. In the spring, bring your Lantana patio tree outside when temperatures reach 50 degrees F (10 C); bring the plant back indoors when temperatures dip below 50 degrees F.

Athens Rose Lantana Patio Tree Spacing

Plant Athens Rose Lantana Patio Tree so that the root ball has enough room to spread and fully establish either in a pot or the ground. The width of the root ball will roughly equal the canopy spread above the ground. Plant other low-growing shrubs and perennials 12 inches away from the base of the tree. Containers with at least 20-inch diameter are recommended to give the Lantana patio tree a sturdy base.

Plant Addicts Warranty - 1 Year (Extra Purchase Required)

We encourage all plant lovers to purchase the Plant Addicts Warranty, whether you're a new gardener or an expert. There are many variables outside of anyone's control that can cause a plant to die. Hungry animals, drought, poor soil conditions, over watering, diseases & pests are all good examples of what can cause plants to die. The Plant Addicts Warranty is a 1 year warranty protecting you from all of the unknowns and will replace your plant if something were to happen to it.

The warranty is purchased on a per plant basis and must be purchased at the same time as the plant(s). We will cover 100% of the price of the plant, but the warranty does not cover shipping costs. SImply let us know if your plant has died within 1 year of receiving it and we will get you a new one shipped out as soon as possible (depending on the time of the year and availability). We may ask for photos for documentation purposes, but we try to make the process as easy as possible.

Guarantee and Warranty

Plant Shipping

Below are some factors we consider when determining when to ship the plants depending on the timing of the order.

Winter to Early Spring

We ship only when it's warm enough to plant in your growing zone.
Sometimes plants aren't completely ready to sell and ship in early spring. We will wait until the plants are ready before shipping so you don't get a subpar product.
For Southern plants we will be able to ship much earlier than plants coming from our northern nursery.

Summer

If there is extreme heat we may delay shipping for a week or several weeks.
We review what areas the plants are traveling through as well as your location.

Fall into Winter

We’ll ship plants out all the way up to the end of the fall planting season!

Winter

Get your order in early to reserve your plants for Spring planting!

Once your plant is shipped you’ll receive an automated email with tracking information.
