Full sunlight is the preferable location Larkspur. It has average watering needs and prefers well-draining slightly moist soil. Another invigorating flush of flowers will last until early Fall.

This is a hardy perennial that overwinters in zones 4 to 8. The best way to overwinter larkspur is to add 2 inches of mulch to help keep roots protected and moist during the coldest times of the year. Trimming these plants back is optional once the first hard frost arrives, but leaving the garden untidy works just as well.
