Growing Zones
The Dwarf Dapper® Pink Butterfly Bush has a long blooming period but a compact size, making it ideal for small spaces. Cone-shaped clusters of small, bubblegum-pink flowers dazzle. The Buddleia davidii 'Condappin' starts to bloom in early summer, pushing out flowers into the fall. Long, green leaves are broad in the center and taper to a point.
Plant this dwarf cultivar in the front of a mixed bed with other butterfly bushes for a cohesive and tiered look. The Dwarf Dapper® Pink Butterfly Bush serves as a filler in a container and introduces color and texture to window boxes or containers placed on a deck or balcony. Like all butterfly bushes, this plant supports pollinators. Trim the stems to include the flowers in an arrangement.
Dwarf Dapper® Pink Butterfly Bush Care
Situate the Dwarf Dapper® Pink Butterfly Bush in full sun. The soil should be moist, well drained, and high in organic content. Keep the soil damp. Established plants can handle dry conditions, but water during a drought will support continued growth. Fertilize this shrub annually to encourage full and dense growth.
Deadheading is unnecessary, but remove spent flowers to maintain a tidy look. Trim damaged stems in late winter or early spring to prepare for new growth.
Dwarf Dapper® Pink Butterfly Bush Spacing
The Dwarf Dapper® Pink Butterfly Bush reaches 3 to 4 feet tall and wide. Space plants 3 to 4 feet apart to form a continuous hedge.
