When To Use
Apply Bulb-tone when planting bulbs in spring or fall, or after they have finished blooming.
How Much To Use
For New Plantings:
- Row Planting: Mix 1.5 lbs (about 4.5 cups) per 25 feet of row into the soil.
- Individual Bulbs: Add 1.5 heaping teaspoons into each hole and cover with soil.
- Bed Plantings: Work 4 lbs per 60 sq. ft. into the soil.
For Established Bulbs:
- Bed Plantings: Apply 4 lbs per 60 sq. ft., rinsing any excess off foliage.
- Individual Bulbs: Sprinkle 1.5 heaping teaspoons around each bulb, keeping 2-3 inches away. Feed dahlias and gladiolus monthly.
How To Apply
- New Plantings: Mix into the soil beneath bulbs.
- Existing Bulbs: Spread evenly on top of the soil.
Water well after applying. Avoid using on frozen soil.
Container Use
Bulb-tone works well in containers too. Mix the recommended amount into the potting soil at planting time, and top-dress with additional food for established bulbs as needed.
