For an exotic touch, why not add this Fiji Rose of Sharon to your garden? Its stunning semi-double, white-pink flowers with a rich red center will not only brighten up the border but attract butterflies when it blooms in late summer. Growing to an impressive 5 to 8 feet tall, this Hibiscus syriacus Fiji™ will really add impact.

Native to parts of Asia, this Hibiscus syriacus Fiji™ is well suited to growing in zones 5 to 8. Requiring minimal pruning, it is low maintenance and easy to care for when grown in the right place. Due to its size, the Fiji Rose of Sharon can be grown on its own or with others to provide bold color to the back of a border.

Fiji Rose of Sharon Plant Care

For the best blooms, the Fiji Rose of Sharon likes to be grown in full sun. It prefers free-draining, fertile soil that is neutral to alkaline. Keep the soil evenly moist after planting; however, once established, it can also cope with dry periods. To encourage its attractive blooms, you can apply a granular slow-release fertilizer in the spring. However, it is best to avoid overfeeding her, as this can lead to poor flower formation.

Even though little pruning is required, you can prune this Fiji Rose of Sharon to the desired shape in late winter. In colder areas, you can mulch around the base of the plant to help insulate the roots from the worst of the winter.

Fiji Rose of Sharon Plant Spacing

The Fiji Rose of Sharon can reach 5 to 8 feet tall and 4 to 7 feet wide when fully grown. When growing as part of a group, you can space each hibiscus around 4 to 7 feet apart.
