It has a compact habit and is filled with yellow foliage and red buds that open to pure white blooms. The Glow Girl Spirea is loved by people and pollinators alike.
The foliage is bright yellow and will hold its color all season. The red buds appear early, and in the spring, white button blooms are produced. This compact shrub reaches a garden height of thirty-six to forty-eight inches. This North American native Spirea has a spread of thirty-six to forty-eight inches. The mounded growing habit makes it a great addition to any container. Plant as a border plant in any landscape or garden. It will do well with mass planting and look great as a focal point.
Glow Girl Spirea Care
This Forsythia needs to be planted in full sun to part sun, ensuring that it receives four to six hours of sun per day. It has average water needs and soil should be well drained. Loose soil is the preference of this plant, but it is highly adaptable. It can adapt to all soils with varying PH levels and can tolerate city conditions. Fertilize in the spring with a controlled release fertilizer.
If pruning is desired, prune Glow Girl Spirea after its spring bloom season. Trim off any sick or dead branches at any time of the year.
