In Love Again combines pastel pink, purple rimmed in chartreuse, and snowy white cascade together for a beautiful curated arrangement. Supertunia Vista Bubblegum, Supertunia Picasso in Purple, and Superbena Whiteout are superior cultivars that grow quickly once temperatures warm, topping out near one foot high before draping more than two feet. The nonstop bloom cycle begins within weeks of planting, so color covers the basket rim by early summer and lasts until frost. Because every flower is self-cleaning, the display stays neat without hand-grooming all season long.
Picasso in Purple contributes a unique mint-green edge that partners easily with Bubblegum’s clear medium pink and Whiteout’s large pure-white clusters. All three selections share a mounded-trailing habit, natural heat tolerance, and solid resistance to common foliar diseases. Use the trio in summer containers with blue lobelia, weave it along walkway borders, or spill it from tall urns flanking the patio steps. Deer usually ignore the foliage, yet pollinators visit daily.
In Love Again Combination Care
Fill a 12-inch basket or patio planter with a lightweight peat-based mix amended with slow-release fertilizer, then situate it in at least six hours of direct sun. Water thoroughly, allowing the top inch of soil to dry before the next soaking—daily during extreme heat, every other day in mild weather. Two weeks after transplanting, begin feeding with a balanced water-soluble fertilizer every 10–14 days to support continuous bud formation. If midsummer growth stalls, trim back by one-third and follow with fertilizer; fresh flowers will reappear within ten days.
Unlike hardy perennials, these annuals finish with the first hard freeze in zones colder than 10, but they bloom steadily up to that point outdoors. Overwinter containers in a garage or basement as the plants enter dormancy, or take cuttings in late summer and grow them on in bright sunrooms. Outdoors in frost-free climates, plants often persist as short-lived perennials, returning for a second season of color.
In Love Again Combination Spacing
For the classic recipe, tuck one Vista Bubblegum in the basket center as a filler and nestle two Picasso in Purple and two Whiteouts around the rim; their stems soon mingle to hide the soil. Large patio bowls 16–18 inches wide easily handle two of each variety for a fuller fountain effect. A single plant grows happily in containers as small as ten inches with a depth of at least eight inches to reduce watering frequency. In garden beds, position individual transplants 14 inches apart; within four weeks, the mounds form an unbroken carpet of color that edges paths or softens retaining walls.
