The flowers bloom in ascending order, working their way from the bottom to the tip of the cone-shaped panicles. Green ovate foliage gives the plant a full and lush appearance.
This butterfly bush has an upright growth habit and works wonderfully in a mixed bed or border. Create a flowering hedge along a walkway or outdoor entertaining space. The flowers are showy, but also fragrant, so feature this beauty in a high-traffic area where the flowers can be enjoyed entirely. Plant the Li'l Coconut™ Butterfly Bush in full sun. This plant is not picky about soil, but a fertile, moist soil that promotes drainage is ideal. Keep the soil evenly moist and avoid overly wet or dry conditions. Fertilize annually each spring to encourage growth and help the plant set plenty of blooms.
Remove dead or damaged growth in the spring and prune to shape. Trim spent blooms to extend the bloom season.
