The Little Quick Fire® Hydrangea lives up to it’s name. This shrub (like the larger Quick Fire Hydrangea) are one of the first hydrangeas to bloom, often a month before other hydrangeas typically bloom. The panicle shaped flowers start off white, and turn to pink and red as summer goes by, and into fall. The early bloom time extends the blooming season of any landscape!

These are one of our best selling hydrangeas because the dwarf shrubs are so versatile. These are great for flower gardens, borders and in planters. These bushes are also drought tolerant, which is an added benefit to dry locations or if you choose to grow these in garden planters.

Little Quick Fire Hydrangea Care

Prune Little Quick Fire hydrangeas in late winter or early spring. These shrubs bloom on new wood, so that ensure the hydrangea blooms every year, regardless of how harsh winter conditions are. Never trim more than a ⅓ of the length of the branch.

To fertilize, use a slow release fertilizer designed for woody plant material, like a rose or tree fertilizer.

These prefer to be in a location with well-drained soil, to help prevent against root rot. The shrub is drought tolerant, and can be adaptable to different conditions though. It does best with at least 6 hours of sunlight, but prefers to have some afternoon shade, especially in warmer climates, like zones 7 and 8.

Little Quick Fire Hydrangea Spacing

Plant Little Quick Fire Hydrangeas 3 to 5 feet apart, center on center. If you would like to create a landscape border or small hedge, plant these 28 to 36 inches apart, center on center. These also do great in garden planters due to their compact size and drought tolerant attributes. Use the same spacing in the planter as you would planting in the ground.

    Little Quick Fire

Posted by Little Quick Fire on Nov 07, 2022

I love how early in the year this hydrangea starts to bloom. And every year this is just covered with bees and other insects that love the flowers too. It's a fast growing hydrangea too that will take up quite a bit of space in the garden as a true statement piece. I love everything about this plant!

    Quality...

Posted by Diane Dorigan on Jul 18, 2022

I received my plants very quickly and was impressed with how they were packaged. They were in good condition, even for mid hot mid July shipping. I got them in the ground quickly and there seems to be no shock. Hopefully I will see some new growth soon.

    Fantastic

Posted by Lonnie Anderson on Dec 01, 2020

We bought one 4 years ago, loved it and ordered two more, now coming into their second season. We loved that their flowers bloomed white for the spring/summer and changed to the pink as the season progressed.

I was hoping this would be closer to the 3 foot size but it ended up growing closer to the 5 foot.
