Quick Fire Fab® Hydrangea is one of the earliest blooming panicle hydrangeas prolonging the already lengthy bloom time of these shrub favorites. The full mop head panicle flowers add texture and intrigue to your garden, blooming from late spring through late summer. Flowers hang on upright, sturdy stems late into fall and even provide winter interest making Quick Fire Fab® Hydrangea a year-round garden performer.
Quick Fire Fab® Hydrangea is a deciduous shrub with an upright habit. Sturdy stems are neat and tidy, covered with lush blooms from white to red throughout the season. This shrub is a vigorous grower and adaptable to many different soil types and fertilities making it an easy-to-grow choice for homeowners. Perfect as a showpiece flowering hedge or nestled in to accent an existing landscape, Quick Fire Fab® Hydrangea is an easy choice. Quick Fire Fab® Hydrangea can also be planted in large containers along with landscapes providing garden interest and focal points. Flowers make great fresh or dried cut flowers!
Quick Fire Fab® Hydrangea Care
Quick Fire Fab® Hydrangea prefers part sun to sun in a well draining location. The shrub requires average soil fertility and can adapt to acidic soil, alkaline soil, or neutral soil. Water well when planting until established and do not amend soil at time of planting. Fertilize in early spring using a granular rose fertilizer. For rapid growth, continue to fertilize monthly through late July.
Quick Fire Fab® Hydrangea requires little maintenance throughout the season. Flowers bloom on new growth so prune by cutting back the main branches by 1/3 in late winter or very early spring. Flowers can be left on for winter interest or if desired, pruning can be done in late fall once the plant is fully dormant.
Quick Fire Fab® Hydrangea Spacing
This shrub is a vigorous grower and will reach 6 to 8 feet in height with a spread of 5 to 6 feet. If desiring a tight mass planting, space 5 feet apart. Plant 6 feet apart for more space.
