Sweet Paradise Daffodil Bulbs bloom with creamy white double petals gathered around a soft peach-pink center. Narcissus ‘Sweet Paradise’ stands about 14 to 20 inches tall, giving spring beds and cut arrangements a full, refined flower. Each bulb typically produces one showy bloom in mid-spring. Our garden designer likes to plant it near a front walk or patio pot, where the warm center color can be seen before the garden fills in.

This double daffodil comes from breeder WF Leenen and is noted as an exclusive introduction through Onings America. Its ivory-and-pink coloring is gentle enough for formal plantings, but the doubled center gives it the presence needed for bouquets. Sweet Paradise suits open ground, raised beds, and containers. The bulbs and foliage are toxic when eaten, so deer, squirrels, and rabbits usually leave them alone. Daffodils are reliable perennial bulbs when planted in fall, given good drainage, and allowed to keep their foliage after flowering.

Sweet Paradise Daffodil Bulbs Care

Plant Sweet Paradise Daffodil Bulbs in full sun to partial shade, with at least 6 hours of sun preferred for strong returning bloom. Plant in well-drained soil with average moisture and a neutral to slightly acidic pH, improving heavy soil with compost before planting. Set bulbs in fall from September through December, planting about 6 to 8 inches deep with the pointed end facing upward.

Water after planting so the soil settles and roots can begin forming before winter. During spring growth, water when the soil feels dry, but avoid saturated conditions that can rot bulbs. Stop regular watering after the foliage fades in late spring or early summer, since dormant daffodils prefer drier soil. Feed with a slow-release bulb fertilizer in fall, or in early spring as shoots first appear.

Deadhead faded flowers so the bulb does not spend energy on seed. Leave the leaves untouched for at least 8 weeks, or until they yellow and collapse on their own. Do not tie, fold, or braid daffodil foliage, as the leaves are still feeding next year’s bloom. Divide crowded clumps every 3 to 5 years after the foliage has died back, and replant the bulbs right away.

Sweet Paradise Daffodil Bulbs Spacing

Space Sweet Paradise Daffodil Bulbs about 5 to 6 inches apart in beds, or plant closer in containers for a fuller spring display. For pots, use a container at least 12 inches wide with drainage holes and enough depth for proper root growth. Keep container plantings cold through winter, lightly moist during rooting, and protected from standing water.

For container companions, pair Sweet Paradise with calibrachoa and petunias, which can trail over the pot edge after the daffodil flowers finish. In the landscape, salvia makes a strong follow-up partner because it fills in as daffodil foliage declines and prefers similar sun and drainage. Sedge also works well nearby, offering tidy grassy texture that helps disguise aging leaves without crowding the bulbs.
