New for 2023: Bellini Cocktail Tomato is a gorgeous apricot-colored cherry-type tomato, perfect for a crudité platter or a tasty tomato-based sauce. The flavor profile is high in sugar and low in acid, making it an excellent choice for fresh and cooked recipes. The prolific and uniformly sized fruit is developed in tidy clusters for easy picking. The fruit is highly resistant to cracking, so there is no fear of losing fruit to diseases or pests.

Tempting Tomatoes® Bellini Cocktail Tomatoes Care

Plant tomatoes outside after the average last frost date for your climate. Temperatures under 50 degrees F will cause the plants to temporarily turn purple and pause growing, generating stunted or poorly established plants. Ensure that the location has at least 6 hours of sun and good drainage if planting in the ground. Indeterminate tomatoes benefit from pruning of the side branching suckers. This helps the plant produce larger fruit not shaded by excess foliage.

Growing Tempting Tomatoes® Bellini Cocktail Tomatoes

Bellini Cocktail Tomato produces its apricot-colored fruit 65-70 days after transplanting. In colder growing zones, protection from late frosts may be required. Late-season protection with a tall hoop house or in an unheated greenhouse will protect plants from late-blight spores and allow for an extended harvest until the first frost of fall.

Tomatoes are short-lived perennial vines in USDA zones 10-11 and can be grown on the ground as a ground cover for slopes or hillsides. Growing Bellini Cocktail Tomato in a container results in a more compact plant that rarely needs staking or other support. The containers can be placed in any spot with at least 6 hours of sun daily. Try planting a few herbs with your tomato to create an instant salsa or marinara container.

Watering Tempting Tomatoes® Bellini Cocktail Tomatoes

Tomatoes growing in containers will require watering much more often than plants growing in the ground. Check the top 2-3 inches of soil every day for dampness. If the soil is dry, water well until it comes out of the drainage holes at the bottom of the container.

Feeding Tempting Tomatoes® Bellini Cocktail Tomatoes

Use a complete fertilizer with a higher ratio of phosphorous to support heavy flowering and firm fruit. A diluted liquid fertilizer is easiest to use on plants growing in containers or hanging baskets. Apply it every two weeks while the plants are flowering and then stop feeding when fruit forms.
