The Tuxedo® Pink Hydrangea looks amazing when in bloom, but this beauty continues to wow even after the flowers fade. This compact mophead cultivar features large globes of vibrant pink flowers during the summer. Strong, woody stems support the blooms. The flowers are contrasted by broad leaves with serrated edges. The leaves stand out because they are a deep shade of purple and almost appear black.
Feature this showy and fast-growing perennial in beds, borders, or mass plantings. The dazzling flowers and foliage will look impressive in front of a foundation wall or alongside a walkway. Use the lovely blooms in cut arrangements. This hardy plant is largely disease-resistant and grows as a perennial in USDA zones 6 through 10.
Tuxedo® Pink Hydrangea Care
The Tuxedo® Pink Hydrangea needs full to partial sun. A spot that receives morning sun and shade during the afternoon is a good choice. Soil should be moist, rich, acidic, and well-drained. Water once a week or whenever the ground starts to dry out. Apply a layer of mulch around the base of the plant to hold in the moisture.
Remove damaged growth at any time and shape the plant as needed after the flowers fade. Apply low phosphorus and high potassium fertilizer in the spring.
Tuxedo® Pink Hydrangea Spacing
This upright beauty will grow 3 feet tall and wide, making it a compact Hydrangea. Space shrubs 30 to 36 inches apart to create a border or mass planting.
