Aptly named, the Choco Latte Hens and Chicks produces richly colored leaves in shades of red, brown, and cream. Also called Sempervivum Chick Charms® 'Choco-Latte', this succulent is easy to grow and can reach an impressive width of around 1 foot across. This plant is suitable for growing both indoors and outdoors.

Being drought tolerant, the Choco Latte Hens and Chicks will not mind if you miss a watering session here or there. It is incredibly winter hardy and grows in zones 3 through to 8 with little protection needed. Grow it on its own or plant with others, either in a border, rock garden or on your desk.

Choco Latte Hens and Chicks Care

Planting the Choco Latte Hens and Chicks in full sun will keep this sempervivum happy. It requires a free-draining and loose soil, as good drainage will prevent the roots from rotting. Water sparingly and only when the soil is dry. Fertilizing is not generally required. However, you can apply a diluted balanced feed over the growing season if the soil is poor.

Pruning the Choco Latte Hens and Chicks is not needed. Nevertheless, you can remove any faded blooms and damaged leaves to tidy the appearance. Container-grown specimens can be brought indoors to overwinter on a sunny windowsill.

Choco Latte Hens and Chicks Spacing

When fully grown, the Choco Latte Hens and Chicks can reach 2 to 3 inches tall and 12 inches wide. Space plants 12 to 16 inches apart for a well-defined appearance and for enough room to spread.
