With a large pom-pom shaped pink flower, Double Scoop Bubble Gum Coneflower pops with summer color. The versatile flowering herb is a favorite for pollinators. They'll really love Double Scoop Bubble Gum since the flowers keep their deep pink color longer than most traditional coneflowers (Echinacea). This native to North America can take heat and drought and is a versatile choice for gardeners in zones 4 through 9.
Double Scoop Bubble Gum Coneflower blooms reach about 2 feet high on stems with deep green foliage. It can perform a thriller role in containers with its tall deep pink blooms. This coneflower also adds plenty of color to a sidewalk, driveway or garden bed border. The best use of this stunner is as a group planting. Imagine a garden bed filled with Bubble Gum coneflowers or a meadow that includes several of these Echinacea plants.
Double Scoop Bubble Gum Coneflower Care
Place Double Scoop Bubble Gum Coneflower in a spot with full sun if possible or one with just a few hours of shade each day. Plant your Echinacea in soil or container mix that drains well to prevent soggy roots. Removing Bubble Gum flowers once they finally fade will encourage more blooms. Add a fresh layer of compost each spring to the top of the soil around the coneflower; there is no need to fertilize Echinacea. Once the plant is established, you can cut watering back except in extremely hot and dry periods.
Double Scoop Bubble Gum Coneflower Spacing
Give Double Scoop Bubble Gum Coneflower plenty of room to grow when placing it in a mass planting or border. Space the plants about 16 to 22 inches apart from center to center.
