For an injection of cheerful color, try the Yellow Calla Lily Grow Kit. Blooming from late spring into summer, this tender Zantedeschia produces vibrant yellow, trumpet-shaped blooms above its green-and-white, speckled foliage. A compact perennial, this yellow Calla Lily grows to around 18 inches tall, which makes it ideal for a variety of garden uses.
The Yellow Calla Lily is a magnet for hummingbirds and butterflies. A tender perennial, it can be overwintered outside in zones 8 to 10 or dug up to overwinter inside in colder parts. This calla lily is perfect for growing in a container or raised bed. It makes a stunning cut flower for a vase.
Yellow Calla Lily Care
For the best blooms, plant the Yellow Calla Lily in full sun or some light shade. To support its lush green foliage and ornate flowers, grow it in a fertile and moist soil that is well drained. Plant out only after the last frost has passed, and irrigate regularly, aiming to keep the soil moist but not soggy. Once the first flowers appear, you can apply a potassium-rich liquid feed every 2 to 3 weeks.
Regular deadheading will help encourage new flowers to form. When left in the ground to overwinter, simply cut back the foliage after it yellows and mulch to protect the roots. Outside of zones 8 to 10, you can dig up the rhizomes in the fall and store them in a cool, dry, frost-free space before planting out the following spring.
Yellow Calla Lily Grow Kit Spacing
The Yellow Calla Lily grows to around 18 to 24 inches tall and wide. If growing as a group, space each plant 18 inches apart.
