The beautiful and lavishly blooming Burgundy Iceberg floribunda rose has a compact, mounded shape that seems to be covered in fragrant semi-double flowers from May to late summer. Native bees and other pollinators love this rose for its cupped, semi-double flowers and sweet nectar. Burgundy Iceberg was developed from the famous Iceberg rose and retains a creamy coloring and profusion of blooms.
Floribunda roses may be the easiest of the shrub roses to grow and enjoy in the garden. They are famous for their easy care and sprays of flowers that are almost a ready-made bouquet for the vase. Burgundy Iceberg is pest and disease resistant and tolerant of light deer browsing. Burgundy Iceberg is more tolerant of heat and humidity than most other floribunda types, making it suitable for growing in the warmer USDA zones. It will develop a deeper flower color in cooler climates. Plant one or more of these low-maintenance beauties in a mixed hedge, or add it to a dedicated rose garden design. It has a deep color and delightful fragrance.
Burgundy Iceberg Floribunda Rose Care
Shrub roses require at least 6 hours of direct sun for good blooming and deep foliage color. Plant Burgundy Iceberg in well-draining soil with a pH close to neutral. Average soil texture is acceptable, although a rich loam is preferred. Water the shrubs well for the first few years to establish a deep root system. Supplemental watering will be needed during extended periods of heat or drought. Mulch the root zone annually to help the soil retain moisture longer and to suppress weeds during the growing season.
Burgundy Iceberg is grown on its own rootstock, making it very hardy down to USDA growing zone 5. Perform any structural pruning in late winter when the shrub is dormant. Remove damaged, diseased, diagonally crossing, or dying stems to prepare the plant for new growth. Harsh winters may cause the top growth to die back. If necessary, the shrub can be cut back hard (rejuvenation pruning) early in the spring. Deadheading is not necessary for this self-cleaning rose, although cutting stems for arrangements will keep the growth compact,
Fertilize shrub roses with a slow-release formulation for flowering landscape shrubs in the early spring. Non-stop bloomers like Burgundy Iceberg will appreciate another application of fertilizer in midsummer to support blooming late in the fall.

Burgundy Iceberg floribunda roses will reach 2-4 feet tall and wide at maturity, making them suitable for small garden spaces. Space plants 30 inches apart when planting multiple roses for a dense hedge or with other plants in the garden.

We encourage all plant lovers to purchase the Plant Addicts Warranty, whether you're a new gardener or an expert. There are many variables outside of anyone's control that can cause a plant to die. Hungry animals, drought, poor soil conditions, over watering, diseases & pests are all good examples of what can cause plants to die. The Plant Addicts Warranty is a 1 year warranty protecting you from all of the unknowns and will replace your plant if something were to happen to it.
The warranty is purchased on a per plant basis and must be purchased at the same time as the plant(s). We will cover 100% of the price of the plant, but the warranty does not cover shipping costs. SImply let us know if your plant has died within 1 year of receiving it and we will get you a new one shipped out as soon as possible (depending on the time of the year and availability). We may ask for photos for documentation purposes, but we try to make the process as easy as possible.

Below are some factors we consider when determining when to ship the plants depending on the timing of the order.
Winter to Early Spring
We ship only when it's warm enough to plant in your growing zone.
Sometimes plants aren't completely ready to sell and ship in early spring. We will wait until the plants are ready before shipping so you don't get a subpar product.
For Southern plants we will be able to ship much earlier than plants coming from our northern nursery.
Summer
If there is extreme heat we may delay shipping for a week or several weeks.
We review what areas the plants are traveling through as well as your location.
Fall into Winter
We’ll ship plants out all the way up to the end of the fall planting season!
