Azaleas are known for striking blooms, and the Perfecto Mundo Epic Coral Azalea does not disappoint. This beauty produces large pinkish-orange flowers that boast lacy petaloid stamens during the spring. If that wasn’t enough, this reblooming cultivar puts on a second display of equally stunning flowers during the late summer or early fall. The Perfecto Mundo Epic Coral Azalea grows as a perennial in USDA growing zones 6b through 9.

The Perfecto Mundo Epic Coral Azalea is an evergreen, so it provides color and interest all year long. This shrub makes a beautiful addition to mass plantings and edging, and it can be used to create a low hedge or along a foundation. The gigantic flowers and reblooming nature make the Perfecto Mundo Epic Coral Azalea a perfect specimen planting. This shrub will need protection from winter weather, so we suggest being prepared to cover the plant if grown in areas that could possibly receive inclement weather.

Perfecto Mundo Epic Coral Azalea Care

Plant this flowering shrub in part to full sun. Azaleas prefer filtered sun throughout the day, and this will typically help the plant produce a larger yield of flowers. A shallow root system means this plant needs a regular water schedule to prevent the roots from drying out. While Azaleas like damp conditions, they do not like soggy soil, so wait until the top couple of inches of soil feel dry before giving the plant water. Apply a layer of mulch around the base of the plant to hold in the moisture longer.

The soil should be acidic with high organic content. Amend the soil with manure or organic compost when planting. Feed the plant in the spring using slow-release plant food. Use a balanced fertilizer with a ratio of 15-15-15 or something similar. Prune the plant after the spring bloom to promote more growth during the summer, and a more abundant rebloom later in the season.

Perfecto Mundo Epic Coral Azalea Spacing

Once mature, the Perfecto Mundo Epic Coral Azalea will be 3 to 4 feet tall and 3 to 5 feet wide. This plant can be spaced as close as 3 to 5 feet center to center from other plants to create a hedge. Give the plants a more generous amount of space if used as a specimen or focal point. Grow the Perfecto Mundo Epic Coral Azalea in a container so you can place the plant in a highly visible area when the shrub is in bloom.
