Sunsparkler® Lime Zinger Stonecrop Sedum is a groundcover scale succulent that is named for its distinctive lime green leaves that are edged in a rich cherry red. It grows between 5 and 6 inches tall, and produces vivid clouds of pink flower heads in the late summer and early fall. This beloved variety creates a tight, clustered, weed-suppressing blanket that won’t fade or flop as it reaches maturity. Sedum Sunsparkler® is a bright, fresh option for gardeners seeking a stunning display of color, all season long.
Sedum Sunsparkler® is fantastic for mass planting, and great for borders, pots, and containers. Ground hugging and compact, it is also a good choice for rock gardens and stone walls, providing attractive spillover and a striking swath of color. It has a 12 to 18 inch spread, grows quickly, and is surprisingly salt tolerant. It is an excellent choice to attract bees and butterflies to your yard, but is not attractive to deer and other critters.
Sunsparkler® Lime Zinger Stonecrop Sedum Care
One of the best features of the Sunsparkler® Lime Zinger Stonecrop is its adaptability. It can grow in both dry and moist conditions, and is not particular to soil quality. It is tolerant of pollution and can thrive in city environments. Sedum Sunsparkler® prefers full sun to dappled shade and has a low irrigation requirement. It is drought tolerant but will suffer in standing water, so make sure your soil or container has adequate drainage.
Your Sedum Sunsparkler® will require regular care and maintenance. It is best to remove dead leaves and stems in winter or early spring before the plant resumes growth for the season. Plants should be trimmed yearly to retain their desired shape.
Sunsparkler® Lime Zinger Stonecrop Sedum Spacing
When used as a bedding plant, individual plants require spacing of 15 inches apart. If you grow your Sunsparkler® Lime Zinger Stonecrop Sedum in a container, pot, or basket, it may require more frequent watering.
