The FrostKiss™ Dana's Dulcet Hellebore is a unique plant that boasts some of the season's first flowers. This plant is such an enthusiastic bloomer that the flowers emerge before the foliage as early as March or April. The pinkish-purple flowers have splashes of burgundy and pronounced yellow stamens. The flowers are actually sepals that surround the true flowers and can last for months on the plant.
The medium green leaves have white veining that resembles marbling. This plant has a bushy form, and the greenery stays in place throughout the summer for continued color and visual interest. Feature this beauty in beds and borders, or create a stunning mass planting.
FrostKiss™ Dana's Dulcet Hellebore Care
The FrostKiss™ Dana's Dulcet Hellebore thrives in rich, moist soil. Neutral to alkaline pH is best. Plant in partial sun to full shade and water when the top few inches of soil are dry. A layer of organic mulch or a balanced fertilizer applied in the early spring supports growth all year.
Trim back dead or damaged growth at any time. Remove all of the growth in early winter before the flowers appear. Divide hellebores as needed in the fall.
FrostKiss™ Dana's Dulcet Hellebore Spacing
The FrostKiss™ Dana's Dulcet Hellebore has a mounded, upright growth habit. Plants grow 18 to 24 inches tall and wide. Space plants 18 to 24 inches apart when planting in groups.
