‘Ruby Spider’ is a tall daylily, best suited for the back of the border where she can best be seen in her glory. Besides being gorgeous, it is a workhorse in the garden, attracting pollinators such as bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. They are fairly disease resistant as well as resistant to rabbits nibbling on them. Beginning in early summer you are treated to beautiful flowers in the garden.

Ruby Spider Daylily Care

Daylilies (Hemerocallis sp.) are not picky about soil. They will grow in fertile, average or poor soil and the soil can be acidic, neutral or alkaline. They do bloom best in 6 hours or more of sunshine but will tolerate up to 4 hours of shade. ‘Ruby Spider’ is hardy from Zone 3a – Zone 9b. Fertilize once a month with an all-purpose fertilizer.

Ruby Spider Daylily Spacing

‘Ruby Spider is an all-purpose plant. It can be used as a border or mass planting to show off her glory, in a large container as a focal point or in the perennial garden as the queen of the bed. You cannot go wrong with ‘Ruby Spider’!
