Anubias Congensis is an amazingly versatile plant that can grow either partially or completely submerged. This semi-aquatic plant can be grown either with its roots planted into gravel or attached to a piece of wood or rock.

Best Locations For Growing Anubias Congensis

The Anubias Congensis can be grown either submerged in an aquarium or planted in a terrarium with its roots kept constantly moist. Either way, this unusual plant will want to be planted somewhere it can be appreciated.

Anubias Congensis Sunlight Requirements

The Anubias Congensis is an adaptable plant and can cope with low to moderate lighting. If grown in strong direct light it can develop algae on the foliage.

Anubias Congensis Plant Care

If grown in an aquarium, Anubias Congensis requires a water temperature of 72 to 78 ºF to thrive and a pH of 6.5 to 7.5. Anubias Congensis can also be grown as a houseplant in a terrarium, however the roots and soil must be kept under water or consistently moist for the plant not to dry out. When leaves appear damaged, they can be cut away at the base, which will also encourage new fresh growth.

Watering Anubias Congensis

If grown in a terrarium, the soil must remain constantly moist or be submerged. If grown in a tank, a weekly water refresh of 20% is recommended.

Feeding Anubias Congensis

In general, the Anubias Barteri plant does not need feeding when it is grown in a tank with good water conditions. If you want the plant to grow faster, you can position it so its leaves are above the water line, which will speed up its growth.
