Pasja Calla Lily Bulbs shift through purple, rose, and light pink tones for a flower that never feels flat. Zantedeschia 'Pasja' produces upright, funnel-shaped blooms on slender stems, with broad green foliage adding structure below the flowers. The 24- to 36-inch height gives containers and borders a graceful vertical accent without the bulk of taller summer bulbs. Our container designer finds this calla especially useful in mixed patio planters because its changing color works with both warm and cool flower palettes.

This South African tender perennial grows from bulb-like rhizomes and flowers from early summer into the warmer part of the season. The blooms are excellent for cutting, with a sleek form that suits modern arrangements, wedding work, and simple single-stem vases. Pasja Calla Lily Bulbs are deer resistant and adaptable enough for beds, borders, patio pots, and seasonal focal plantings. In zones 7 to 10, they may overwinter in mild gardens with protection, while colder zones should treat them as lift-and-store summer bulbs.

Pasja Calla Lily Bulbs Care

Grow Pasja Calla Lily Bulbs in full sun to partial shade, giving afternoon shade in hot climates to protect the flowers from harsh heat. Plant in well-drained, fertile soil that holds light moisture without staying saturated. A slightly acidic soil pH around 6.0 to 6.5 is a good target for calla lilies.

After planting, water sparingly until leaves appear, since dormant rhizomes dislike cold wet soil. Once the foliage is up, water more deeply whenever the soil begins to dry below the surface. Feed when leaves are several inches tall with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer, then continue light feeding during active bloom for container-grown plants. In fall, reduce watering as the foliage yellows and the plant moves toward dormancy.

Spent flowers can be removed at the base of the stem to keep the clump clean. Let yellowing leaves remain until they release easily, since they help replenish the rhizome. In zones 3 to 7, lift after frost or after natural dieback, cure in a warm dry place for several days, and store in dry peat moss in a cool basement or frost-free garage.

Pasja Calla Lily Bulbs Spacing

Plant Pasja Calla Lily Bulbs 1 to 3 inches deep and 6 to 9 inches apart in garden beds, with the growing points facing up. For containers, use a 12- to 14-inch pot for three bulbs, or a wider bowl planter for a denser seasonal display. Choose a potting mix that drains freely, and water containers by checking the soil first rather than following a fixed calendar.

Companion Planting

For containers, pair Pasja Calla Lily Bulbs with nemesia, wishbone flowers, or fuchsia where part sun gives the planting steady color around the upright calla stems. In sunny beds, dianthus and sea thrift make tidy lower companions that prefer drainage similar to calla lilies. For a broader border, bluebeard adds late-season texture nearby, and sedge gives a clean foliage contrast without hiding the calla flowers.
