Pink Pearl Hyacinth Bulbs fill early spring with dense rose-pink flower spikes and a rich, sweet perfume. Hyacinthus orientalis 'Pink Pearl' is an heirloom selection from 1922, known for fuchsia-pink florets with paler petal edges. Its compact 8- to 12-inch height makes it easy to place along paths, in porch pots, or at the front of bulb borders. Our designers find this one especially useful near entryways because the fragrance is noticeable before you even reach the door.

This award-winning Dutch hyacinth is prized for both garden planting and indoor forcing. Each bulb produces a single upright spike surrounded by short, strappy green leaves, with flowers opening in early to mid-spring. Hyacinths are deer and rabbit resistant, and they are often left alone by rodents compared with many other spring bulbs. Use Pink Pearl Hyacinth Bulbs in clusters, spring containers, cutting beds, or small sensory gardens where scent is part of the experience.

Pink Pearl Hyacinth Bulbs Care

Plant Pink Pearl Hyacinth Bulbs in full sun to partial shade, with the fullest flower spikes usually developing in stronger spring light. Choose rich, well-drained soil, such as loam or sandy loam amended with compost if needed. A slightly acidic to neutral soil pH, about 6.0 to 7.0, supports healthy rooting and bloom production.

Water thoroughly after fall planting to settle soil around the bulbs; avoid extra water through fall and winter unless the season is unusually dry. In spring, keep the soil moderately moist while flowers and leaves are active, then taper watering as foliage begins to yellow. Feed at planting with a bulb fertilizer top-dressed or mixed into the surrounding soil, keeping fertilizer away from direct bulb contact. A light mulch after the ground cools helps buffer winter temperature swings.

Wear gloves when planting hyacinth bulbs, since the papery skins can irritate sensitive skin. Remove spent flower spikes after bloom, but leave the leaves in place until they yellow naturally. For indoor forcing, chill bulbs before growth begins, then move them into bright light once shoots are ready.

Pink Pearl Hyacinth Bulbs Spacing

Plant Pink Pearl Hyacinth Bulbs about 6 inches deep and 6 inches apart, with the pointed end facing up. For containers, use a pot at least 10 to 12 inches wide with drainage holes, planting bulbs close together but not touching for a full spring display. Keep potted bulbs evenly moist during active growth, and let the mix dry down after foliage finishes.

For container companions, pair Pink Pearl Hyacinth Bulbs with pansies, primrose, or alyssum for cool-season color around the low flower spikes. In garden beds, daffodils make excellent partners because they share fall planting timing, resist deer, and contrast well with pink hyacinths. Coral bells can add foliage color at the front of the bed, while columbine rises later and helps cover fading bulb leaves without crowding them.
