Potluck Planting Blush Bouquet Mix creates a layered pastel display with tulips and daffodils that appear soft but still full of presence. This mix includes Tulipa 'Finola', Tulipa 'Spring Green', Tulipa 'Ollioules', Narcissus 'Accent', and Narcissus 'Yellow Cheerfulness' for blush pink, cream, green, salmon, white, and yellow tones. The double tulips and fragrant daffodils add fullness, while Spring Green tulips keep the palette fresh and refined. The beauty of this mix is you can clip a few stems for a vase without thinning the whole planting.
This fall-planted bulb collection is especially strong for mid- to late-spring interest, with daffodils adding fragrance and tulips adding taller color. Finola opens creamy pink and deepens as it ages, Ollioules has large rose-pink flowers edged in white, and Accent offers white petals with a pink-to-salmon cup. Yellow Cheerfulness is a fragrant double daffodil that can naturalize when planted in well-drained soil and left to rebuild after bloom. Use this mix in cutting gardens, cottage borders, porch pots, or along a walkway where the color can be enjoyed at close range.
Potluck Planting Blush Bouquet Mix Care
Plant Potluck Planting Blush Bouquet Mix in full sun to partial shade, with at least 6 hours of light preferred for strong stems and repeat flowering from the daffodils. Choose well-drained soil that is loose enough for bulb roots to expand before winter. A slightly acidic to neutral soil pH, about 6.0 to 7.0, is a good range for this tulip and daffodil combination.
Water after planting to settle soil around the bulbs, then let natural rainfall do most of the work unless fall weather stays dry. In spring, water during dry stretches while leaves are actively growing, but avoid keeping the bed wet once flowering has finished. Feed at planting with a bulb fertilizer or balanced slow-release fertilizer, placed in the soil below the root zone or top-dressed according to the label. A light spring top-dressing as shoots emerge is helpful in lean soil or where you want the daffodils to return strongly.
Deadhead faded tulip and daffodil flowers, especially in display beds where clean presentation is important. Leave the foliage standing until it turns yellow and releases easily, since the leaves store energy for the next season. In windy sites, place the taller tulips where nearby shrubs, fencing, or lower perennials can reduce storm damage without shading the bulbs too heavily.
Potluck Planting Blush Bouquet Mix Spacing
Plant tulip and daffodil bulbs about 6 inches deep, with the pointed end up and 4 to 6 inches between bulbs for a garden bed. For a fuller bouquet effect in containers, place bulbs a little closer together in a pot at least 12 inches wide with drainage holes and enough soil beneath the bulbs for root growth. Use a well-draining potting mix, water after planting, and protect containers from repeated freeze-thaw cycles in colder climates.
For container companions, use bacopa, wishbone flowers, or begonias after the bulb foliage begins to fade, since they cover the soil surface and keep the planting attractive into warmer weather. In garden beds, columbine and avens bridge the gap after tulips finish, while salvia can carry color into early summer in sunny, well-drained spots. For part-shade edges, Jacob’s ladder pairs well with the softer bulb tones and helps disguise aging daffodil foliage without smothering it.
