Potluck Planting Peachy Keen Bouquet Mix creates a ready-made bouquet of warm orange, gold, white, and blue for spring. This bulb mix combines Narcissus 'Golden Echo', Tulipa 'Christmas Orange', and Muscari armeniacum for a layered display that moves from low grape hyacinth clusters to taller daffodils and tulips. The height range is part of the charm, with muscari near 4 to 8 inches, daffodils around 14 to 16 inches, and tulips rising taller for the final color note. Our container designers like this mix for its curated color palette because the blue muscari keeps the peach-orange tulips from feeling too sweet.

Golden Echo daffodil offers lightly fragrant white petals with a long yellow cup and returns well when its foliage is allowed to finish naturally. Muscari armeniacum is a compact, fragrant, blue-flowered bulb that can naturalize. Christmas Orange tulip contributes large apricot-orange spring flowers on sturdy stems. Tulips are best treated as the showpiece portion of the planting. Use this mix for spring borders, porch pots, cutting gardens, mailbox beds, and small bulb drifts woven between emerging perennials.

Potluck Planting Peachy Keen Bouquet Mix Care

Plant Potluck Planting Peachy Keen Bouquet Mix in the fall in full sun to partial shade, with at least 6 hours of sun giving the strongest spring bloom. Choose loose, well-drained garden soil or potting mix that does not hold puddles after rain. A slightly acidic to neutral pH, about 6.0 to 7.0, suits this bulb combination.

Water thoroughly after fall planting so the soil settles around the bulbs and root growth can begin. In spring, water when the soil is dry below the surface, but let the bed drain between soakings because bulbs rot in soggy ground. Feed at planting or as shoots emerge with a bulb fertilizer or balanced slow-release fertilizer, keeping product out of direct contact with the bulbs. After bloom, reduce watering as the foliage yellows and the bulbs move into dormancy.

Deadhead spent daffodil and tulip flowers so energy returns to the bulb instead of seed production. Leave green foliage standing until it turns yellow or brown and releases easily, since those leaves rebuild next year’s flowers. In colder zones, apply a light winter mulch after the ground cools, then pull it back before spring shoots stretch.

Potluck Planting Peachy Keen Bouquet Mix Spacing

Plant bulbs in fall, setting larger daffodil and tulip bulbs about 6 inches deep and smaller muscari bulbs about 2 to 3 inches deep. Space bulbs 3 to 6 inches apart, placing tulips and daffodils deeper with muscari nearer the front or scattered above the larger bulbs for a layered look. For containers, use a pot at least 12 inches wide with drainage holes, and plant closely for a full spring display while leaving enough soil below the bulbs for roots.

For container companions, use pansies, alyssum, or violas to cover the soil surface through winter and early spring without crowding the bulbs. In garden beds, pair this mix with catmint for later foliage coverage, sedum for sunny dry edges, or coral bells for leaf color after the bulb foliage fades. Peonies are also a strong landscape companion because their spring shoots rise as the bulb display is finishing, helping hide aging foliage while the bulbs rest.
